Don't Wing It

In Acts 2:38, Peter warns us “Save yourselves from this untoward generation.” The word ‘untoward’ means having no direction or course of action. When we have no direction, vision, purpose, or plan of action, we aimlessly wander our entire lives wasting our God given dreams.

Peter’s words cry out to all of us. We can save OURSELVES from so much pain and confusion if we would simply seek the Lord and begin making plans for our future. Most things don’t just happen to us. They happen because of us. The future will happen as you plan it or not plan it.

The old adage is true: If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail. Many fail at life because they planned it that way, maybe not intentionally, they just didn’t have a plan. Sadly, if you don’t plan your life, your life will plan it for you. We can actually have something to say about our future.

When we don’t have a vision, we become apathetic and negligent (Proverbs 29:18). Life becomes boring, lackluster, pointless. We lose our joy, excitement, and purpose for living. God WANTS us to make a plan for our lives (Proverbs 16:9). We simply can’t afford to wing our lives away.
