The Team Counts

Loyalty is a rare quality in leadership circles. Leaders will say how grateful they are for their teams, but when the stakes are high, and the world is watching, they don’t truly count on their own people. Instead they’ll bring in the “big guns,” the celebrities, and the superstars for the “main event.”

A true leader understands the difference between building his team and building THE team. When a leader doesn’t count on their team they breed suspicion that the leader is using them instead of building them. A team will never rise to greatness if they haven’t been given anything great to rise to.

When a leader counts on the team in the “big” moments, regardless if they fail or succeed, the team still wins! They become more confident and competent each time. When people are faced with the decision to take courage and step out in spite of their insufficiencies, only great things can come of it.
