Leaders Pray

Leaders Pray

Once during a church staff meeting, the senior pastor urged his staff to pray. One leader spoke up, “Sir, what about some of us leaders that don’t pray.” A bit surprised, the pastor responded, “Leaders that DON’T pray!!!?? There’s no such thing as a leader that doesn’t pray!!!”

Most problems in leadership and ministry arise from the supernatural, and the only way to face them is through supernatural means. Thus, true spiritual leadership must remain alert to their true surroundings (1 Peter 5:7). That’s why Jesus Himself commanded us to pray (Luke 18:1).

For some leaders, depression is creeping in, factions are emerging, marital conflict is surfacing, family or financial crisis has hit. For others, a great door of favor is opening, and you will need much wisdom and humility. Whatever the case, leaders cannot afford not to pray.
