Don't Borrow Trouble

Don't Borrow Trouble

Some people love drama. That’s why social media is so popular. It’s a place where people feed on drama. Misery loves company. People who crave drama will look for it, and when they can’t find it, they’ll create it. Some sniff out drama like cockroaches. They scrounge at the bottom of everything.

We don’t have time to dwell with bottom feeders. Don’t be manipulated. Some issues are legitimate. However, we don’t have to mediate every petty squabble. Don’t get drawn into the minuscule. Whenever you feel like getting sucked into drama, repeat this polish proverb, “Not my circus, not my monkeys.”

People who don’t have a life of their own will try to live in yours. Petty and pithy people will divert your focus, drain your energy, and spoil your productivity. Don’t borrow their trouble. Stop looking for ways to be upset, angry, and bitter. Refuse to allow negative people to make withdrawals from your life.

Leader: If you look for drama you will surely find it, but if you search for the positive, you will attract positive people into your life. So, take note of those that drum-up drama and avoid them (Romans 16:17). Protect your strength and guard your joy. Don’t succumb to the childish ways of the drama lovers.
